Habutai
Silk habotai fabric is the type of silk cloth that is known for its fineness, lightweight, softness, shine and silky hand. It is the most basic type of plain weave of silk fabric. It is usually a silk lining but can also be used for t-shirts, lampshades, summer blouses or very light lingerie. Dyeing is pretty natural and can be found in many shops. As with other silks, habutai comes in a variety of weights measured in mommes. A 8mm habitual silk could be lightweight, and translucent whereas 16 mm habutai is known to be quite thick. Habutai is a lightweight, shimmering material which was once primarily used to make silk kimonos. It is pure and often has an ivory hue.
