Chiffon
Chiffon fabric primarily refers to a light-weaved sheer fabric with a soft drape of alternate crepe yarns from S and Z twist. Upon spinning, the twist in the crepe yarns slightly puckers the material in both directions, giving it some flexibility and a slightly rough look. When held in the light, these fabrics strongly resemble densely woven netting. Chiffon fabric can be made using different materials, such as linen, polyester, rayon and cotton, but it is generally associated with fibres such as nylon or silk. Contrary to any desired colour tone, chiffon fabric can be easily coloured and used for bridal gowns, and also appears in evening gowns, ribbons and scarves.
