Georgette
Georgette fabric is a sheer, lightweight and dull finished crepe fabric. It is originally made from silk and is made of tightly twisted yarns. The crinkly surface is created in both warp and weft by alternating S and Z twist yarns. It can also be woven using satin weaving or jacquard weaving which produces georgette satin and georgette jacquard respectively. Georgette fabric is made of solid colours and prints that are used for blouses, skirts, evening gowns and sarees. It is more springy and less glistening than chiffon. Georgette is a very flowy fabric, with a pleasing structure and drape particularly for skirts and dresses. Georgette can be stacked to add dimensions and create an eye-catching effect and more size.
